Prohibition ends and Al Capone is caught.
On March 27, 1929, Al Capone was captured in his winter home in Florida for the not paying income tax. He was in jail for two years, and then got prosecuted for bootlegging liquor and drinking liquor, and was sent to Alcatraz for 11 years. The 21st Amendment repealed the 18th Amendment and was the first time that an amendment was repealed in the history of the United States. It was officially in action on February 21, 1933 and ended a 14 year long period of dry citizens. The end of Prohibition was something to celebrate. It was all over newspapers and it was all people were talking about. Crime was an all time high during the Prohibition, and that went back to normal when it ended.
